In Loving Memory

Cavic Jr., Peter

Peter Cavic, Jr., 92, went to heaven on March 28, 2018.  Peter was the son of Pava and Peter Cavic, Sr. in  Hartford, IL, and was the youngest of 8 children. He was the beloved husband of over 64 years to Helen (nee Staich), loving father of Paula and Diane (Peter) Vezmar, and wonderful Deda of granddaughters Elena and Kristina.

Peter was a proud American and Serbian Orthodox.  After honorably serving in the U.S. Army during W.W. II, he graduated from the University of Illinois-Champaign with honors.  Peter served Holy Trinity Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in many capacities such as Choir President, Church Board Officer, and sponsor for the youth group, tamburitza and folklore groups. With pride, he was a long time member of the Masonic Order serving as Worshipful Master.  He was also a member of Eastern Star. Peter was a humble, caring and devoted man to his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.  God bless our sweet angel.

Peter was laid to rest in a private ceremony March 31, 2018.  The family asks that donations be considered to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, St. Louis or Shriners Hospital for  Children.        A KUTIS AFFTON SERVICE.
