Lois Lavon Ebel (nee Allen), 92, passed away March 8, 2025. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard “Dick” Ebel. She is survived by her daughter, Shari (Ken) Mock and son, Steve (Cheryl) Ebel. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Darin (Bethany) Mock and Denise (Dan) Nazzaro, and her three great-grandchildren, Brady Mock, Reese Mock and Annalise Nazzaro, who brought her immense joy.
Lois led a full and wonderful life. She was one of the founders of and a dedicated volunteer for the SHARE breast cancer organization, inspired by her own journey with the disease more than 40 years ago. A talented, artistic quilt designer, Lois won several awards for her beautiful work. During her lifetime, she made hundreds of quilts for her family, friends and various charities. She cherished time spent at their lake house in Cuba, Missouri, and made many new friends at Friendship Village Sunset Hills, where she and Dick lived for several years.
Funeral service and interment private. A celebration of Lois’ life is being planned. Memorial donations can be made to The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital or the Humane Society of Missouri.
Lois has joined Dick in Heaven, where he surely welcomed her with open arms, asking, “What’s for dinner?”
Private services were held.
