Peggy Goetz

In Loving Memory

Goetz, Peggy Ann (nee Tuhro)

May 31, 1939 - November 9, 2024

Peggy Ann (Tuhro) Goetz, age 85, of St. Louis, MO., passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Audrey (Ruck) Tuhro, sister Judy Tuhro, her husband of 55 years Edward John Jr., and son Edward (Eddie) John III and brother in law Rudi Imm.

Peggy was born on May 31, 1939, in St. Louis, MO to Walter and Audrey Tuhro. She graduated from Cleveland High School and got married on August 27, 1960. She held a few jobs but spent her life as a dedicated homemaker while raising her two sons.

Peggy enjoyed socializing with friends who for more than thirty years gathered for Friday night get togethers (parties).  She cherished these relationships and leaned upon them throughout the highs and lows of her life.  Her fun-loving antics, napkin dances, and storytelling made every celebration unforgettable, ensuring no one ever left without a laugh, a hug, or a good story to tell.

She grew up with a competitive spirit and a love for sports that carried through her entire life.  Whether she was cheering from the sidelines, “coaching” Little League, or passionately rooting for her favorite teams (Cardinals, Blues, Rams, and Patrick Mahomes).  Her enthusiasm was infectious.  She spent game days surrounded by family and friends who enjoyed her spirited commentary.  She wasn’t just a spectator.  She loved to compete in tennis, golf, cards, dominos, board games …

Her faith in God was deeply important to her. She was a long-time member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ.  She sang in the choir and served on several committees over the years.

Peggy is survived by her son Gary Goetz and his wife Sheri, daughter in law Jody Goetz; grandchildren Kaitlin Goetz-Glassl and her husband Erik, Lydia Goetz and Jack Goetz;  great grandsons TJ Womack and Oliver Glassl; and sisters Bonnie Imm and Beverly Wynn and her husband Don.  In addition, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends who love her dearly.

Peggy will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Shriners Children’s St. Louis | Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

SERVICES: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Saturday, November 23rd from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment at Sunset Cemetery.

  5. Mrs Goetz was like an Aunt to us Hantak kids. She still inspires me to keep playing tennis and sports now that I’m into my 60’s and to always find something to laugh about. She had so much gusto and a zeal for living! She was a great friend to my mom and dad. They had wonderful times at parties, dinners and playing games and cards. I really loved her, what a special lady. RIP Peggy Goetz ❤️
