Helen Gregory

In Loving Memory

Gregory, Helen T. (nee: Miller)

September 23, 1926 - August 11, 2023

Helen T. Gregory (nee Miller), 96, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on August 11, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Glennon J. Gregory. Loving mother of Thomas (Joan), Teresa Femmer (Dennis), James, John (Tracy), William (Petra), Andrew and David (Roxanne) and the late Patrick Gregory. Grandmother to Christy (Rob) Dobbelare, Anna (Jason) Burns, Andrea (Law) Gregory-Schuelke, Candace, Elaine (Alex) Keeslar, Amber (Matthew) Patterson, Isabella, Paige, Veronica, Matthew, and Bennett.  Great-grandmother to Nora, Graham, Grady, Maren, Giovanni, Ellis and Leo.

Helen is predeceased by her parents, William G. and Mary Amalia (nee Keutzer) Miller, her brother William Miller, sisters Marie Chase, Gertrude Ernst, and Jeanne Raner. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Patricia Sullivan. Helen and all her sisters were proud graduates of Rosati-Kain High School. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Margaret Gregory. Beloved aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, and dear friend to many.

After leaving high school and prior to marriage, Helen worked as a lab technician at City Hospital. After her children were grown, she had plenty of energy left, so she began a job working in the lab of Dr. Viktor Hamburger in the Biology Department of Washington University. Upon Dr. Hamburger’s retirement, she took a job at the Missouri Botanical Garden cataloging plants. She met many new friends that were dear to her at the Garden.

Helen loved her family and never met a stranger. She lived in the family home until a few weeks ago. It is here where she loved getting visits from family and friends. These visits meant so much to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 4220 Ripa Avenue, St. Louis Missouri, 63125. Immediately following visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Rosati-Kain High School or Missouri Botanical Garden. For more information, or to share memories, visit kutisfuneralhomes.com.

  2. Tom, what a tribute to your dear sweet mother, now I know why u have been so successful in your personal life as an attorney ~~~your mother was a great example of family, fun, and faith… which you will continue on in her absence. She has only slipped away ~~her “spirit” is within u and your siblings…. Laugh with her, talk to her, pray with her

She’s just around the corner, nothing has been lost, for one brief moment and all will be as it was before, only better, infinitely happy we will all be together forever…..

Know you are in my thoughts & prayers, Friends for forever……If there is anything I can do let me know,…. I treasure your friendship.. Blessings to you and your family
