  1. Helen was a cherished “adopted” family member to us. We derived so much pleasure from her company over meals and on adventures over many years. She was great fun, active, totally engaged in life and her friends and activities…going on exotic trips to Russia, The Bugaboos, and more, and US trips, visiting the casino, playing bridge. In earlier years she camped out, hiked, went canoeing and on cruises. She was always ready for the next adventure.
All of us, and a few other pals (Justine Eresh and Mary Allen), were in David’s aunt Elizabeth Tucker’s wedding. Since then, we regularly went to lunch, laughing so loud we feared the managers would tell us to pipe down.
She loved her sister, cousins, and particularly the 7 friends she’d known when attending Rosati Kane High School, who eventually ended up at Our Lady of Life with her. They are gone now. And she loved Ann, the former manager there. She reveled in OLOL’s pajama parties, happy hour, live music and dancing, Mardi Gras, Halloween and Kentucky Derby parties. She attended everything. And, in the last couple years, she loved and appreciated the dear lady who helped get her ready for the day.
We will sorely miss this lovely lady.
When she turned 100, I asked her for the secret to her longevity. She said she chose not to be around negative, complaining people. She just was with positive, happy people. Sage advice.

  2. Helen was a lifelong friend of the family and was quite kind to me when I moved to St Louis for work. She never had a bad word for anyone and had boundless energy. Very much someone to look up to. RIP to her friends and family
