Hahn 2

In Loving Memory

Hahn, Michael James

November 3, 1962 - January 19, 2026

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 19th, 2026.

Beloved husband of  Jill Hahn (nee Mann); devoted father of Zach Hahn and Olivia Hahn; dearest son of the late Charles and Mary Hahn (nee Jurcic); loving brother of Diane (Alan) Zeithamer, Tom (Andrea) Hahn, and the late Larry Hahn; our dear son-in-law,  brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Mike was a proud alumni of Christian Brothers College (CBC) High School ’81 and the University of Missouri ‘85 (Mizzou). Following graduation, Mike started his dedicated salesman career at Suntrup and Bommorito Nissan for 35 years. Fortunately, he was able to start “vacation for life” over three years ago.

He was Dewey to some but Mike to most. He was always the fun guy at the party and introduced many to Jäger Bombs. He loved listening to music especially Earth, Wind, & Fire, ELO, Styx, Rush, Queen, and Chicago.

Mike was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing football, basketball, and tennis. Mike loved watching all sports but most of all when Zach and Olivia played!

During the summer, you could find Mike by the pool or by the beach. He especially loved vacationing in Hawaii.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made to the American Heart Association are greatly appreciated.

SERVICES: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Tuesday, January 27th for 11:00 AM Mass. Interment at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation at Kutis on Monday, January 26th, 3:00 – 8:00 PM.

  5. Dewey I’m so glad that I knew you and Jill. I have so many great memories from back in the day when we worked together at Southland Nissan. The last time I talked to you was when you were at Bommarito and we were supposed to get together and hang out but we never did. I really wish we would have. Rest easy my friend.

  10. Dear Jill, Olivia and Zack,
I am so sorry for your loss, Mike was a really special guy, and someone who I always enjoyed. Randomly, I met Mike when at Suntrup Nissan in the 1990’s when I had arranged to buy a car with Craig Suntrup, and Mike was assigned the sale. He was very very excited and knew my brother Stephen, also a car guy, and could not have had more fun. Later, via other ways I have had the pleasure to see Mike and you all at parties and celebrations, and now it will be more fun in heaven w Mike. May God bless his soul, and bless your family and friends.
    Sincerely, Kevin Lynch

  14. Jill, Zach, and Olivia, we are deeply saddened to hear of your tremendous loss. There are no words that can truly ease the pain you are experiencing, but please know how much you are cared for during this difficult time.

Though we have only known Mike for a brief time, his energy and personality were evident. From the first time meeting him, shaking his hand, I felt I was in the company of a good man, a good husband, and good dad. Not many people have that power.

Our hearts are with you as you navigate the days ahead. May you find strength in one another, comfort in shared memories, and moments of peace amid the sorrow. You are not alone, and your family is held close in thought and spirit.

Please know that you and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers, now and always. We hope you feel surrounded by love, support, and compassion as you grieve and heal together.

  15. 35 YEARS AGO! So, that makes Mike my second oldest friend. You know how he and I met. CARS. We never hung out or did anything together. But I’d go to the dealerships on an average of once a month just to shoot the breeze for an hour or so and we’d laugh A LOT! He always talked about you and the kids and you could tell how absolutely proud of all of you he was. I loved that guy!
If you need help with the lawn or pool, you know who to call. As long as you got a different pool vacuum. The old one kept spraying me!
    We’ll keep in touch.

  18. Mike Hahn was a wonderfully kind man with a huge heart and a welcoming smile. Introduced to Mike through his roommate Bob (Bobby T) Totsch, I will always fondly remember the good times we shared—from the apartment on Newstead and the Dale Avenue house (pool included!), to Thursday nights on the Landing, Rams games at Busch Stadium, Blues games, and concerts at Riverport.

A true gentleman and a gifted salesman, Mike had a way of making everyone feel special; you always walked away from a conversation with him feeling better than you did before.

Rest easy, Dewey. Thanks for the laughs, the parties, and for always making us feel like the guest of honor.

You have my deepest sympathies with this sudden and tragic passing of your husband and father. Mike was my classmate at CBC. We played football together for all four years. He was a great teammate but truly a better friend. Frankly, he was one of the best people I have met in my life, but you three already know that. I pray for all of you and hope that your sorrows pass as soon as is possible.

  21. To my friend. Dewey, from the guy who helped give you that crazy nick name over your love of Dewey Steven’s wine coolers in your early days hanging at the pool !
I will never forget you and our friendship at a time when we were both just growing up ! We lived together for several years after Mizzou which started at Westgate and ended in the central west end. We bought Rams tickets together and had some crazy game day Sundays that often ran into Monday’s ! Yikes we had some great times !

Then Jill came along and saved you! Maybe both of us ! A man with a kind heart, and engaging personality ! To your children I can say everyone who knew Mike called him a friend! He would do anything for anyone !

Mike always had a gentle way and a great smile, but make no mistake “Dewey”was always the life of any party or gathering !

The best decision Mike ever made was marrying Jill and starting a family! Jill you are the perfect life partner for Mike and he adored you from the start. I know. I was there when you met and he said “this is it” hook
    Line and sinker !

Jill, Zack and Olivia. My deepest sympathy in this difficult time. Always lean the great memories. I hope to get a chance to share a few memories in person sometime soon !

Mike always loved the water whether it be the pool or the beach ! I know Mike is already hanging out in the beautiful pool in heaven keeping the “chemicals right” and being a lifeguard watching over his family and friends !!!

Dewey , Save me a chair and a cold one buddy… we will see you again ….love you man !

I know how lost you must feel Jill and I know you can get through it. Prayers to you and the kids who I am sure have a hole in their hearts right now also. Unfortunately I learned this recently first hand. Grief is a beast but it comes from great love.

  26. Mike and I have been friends since 5, often best friends. The news of Hahn passing is breaking the hearts of our very close grade school class at St. Luke’s, class of 1977. My fondest memories are ice skating at Steinberg, concerts at The Arena and Kiel, table hockey, epic Risk games, and of course listening to music in the Camero. Michael, here’s to times we don’t remember and to friends we won’t forget, cheers.
