In Loving Memory

Kakta, Geraldine E. “Gerry”

October 3, 1932 - January 5, 2024

91, Baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection, on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Beloved wife of the late Frank E. Kakta; Loving mother of Nancy (Ron) Wells, Barb (Fred) Uhle, Mike (Barb) Kakta, Donna (Dan) Rayburn, and Matt (Robin) Kakta; Cherished Grandmother to Jason, Amanda, Melissa, Andy, Mike, Allision, Nick, Sean, Lindsay, Jessica, Madison, and Lauren; Great Grandmother to 9 (soon to be 10); Great-Great Grandmother to 1; Dearest Sister to Barb (Bruce) Schoenig; Loving aunt and friend to many.

Gerry’s first priority in life was spending time with her family and friends; her Catholic faith was central to her being and she encouraged others with God’s love. She often said “The greatest gift that you can give someone is your time” and Gerry’s family and friends experienced just that. She had an incredible love for people and greeted you with warmth; you always felt heard, seen, and valued after spending time with her. Once you were in her presence, you had her full attention, and it was nearly impossible to leave without being refreshed by a word of encouragement. Gerry’s presence in our lives brought immeasurable joy, love, and laughter, and for that, we are forever grateful.

SERVICES: Visitation will be held at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church (11011 Mueller Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123) on Tuesday, January 16th at 9:00 AM, until the Funeral Mass begins at 9:30 AM. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

  3. I have fond memories of Mrs Kakta. She would come to the house and Mom and her would catch up. The two together equaled laughter. She was such a neat person. And her love for her family always showed. RIP Mrs Kakta.
