July 30, 1944 - August 3, 2024

Baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Beloved husband of Marilyn Lavac (nee Gradl); devoted father of Brian (Keli) Lavac and Kevin Lavac; loving grandfather of Luke, Nathan, Alaina, Drew, Owen, and Austin Lavac; dearest son of the late Edward and Catherine Lavac (nee Ban).

Ed was retired from Teamsters Local 133, was an avid sports fan of all sports and enjoyed listening to Blues music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Donations made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Make-A-Wish Foundation are greatly appreciated.

SERVICES: Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church (1625 S 11th St, St. Louis, MO 63104).

  1. There are no easy words and no easy lives. Kevin talked easily and proudly about Edward and respected the fact that Edward’s job was not easy and his health questionable. But through it all Edward, obviously, did not give up be it on himself, family or friends,

    It takes a special person not to give up. Perhaps we can all take a lesson from Edward and not give up! May God rest his soul.

  5. Ed was a childhood friend. Was recently thinking of him as we frequently shared birthday celebrations. Mine is July 29. Our mother’s were very good friends since they were very young. Naturally the families were close as we lived two houses away on Miami Street. Ed was a good kid and I am sure grew up to be a great man. My condolences to all his family and friends
