Mark Mess

In Loving Memory

Mess, Mark “Moose”

January 29, 1951 - January 16, 2024

Mess, Mark “Moose” age 72, suddenly entered into Eternal Life on January 16, 2024. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Jackie, son Ryan, and daughter in law Madison. Mark’s newest title was Pa to his first grandson Henry. Proceeded in death by his parents Valentine and Mary Kathryn Mess. He was a dear brother to the late Gregory (Charlotte) Mess, Marsha (Joseph) Numi, Keith (Veronica) Mess, and Kathryn (late Timothy) O’Toole. He was a dearest brother-in-law to Tim (Colleen) Tierney, and Stacy (Lance) Greunke as well as beloved Uncle, Godfather, Cousin, and friend to many.

Mark lived life to the fullest. He loved Busch beer, sunny vacations in Mexico, and St. Patty’s Day at Turtle Park. Mark was a master on the grill, a silver sneakers member at gyms across the Lou, and a true family man. He enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews and visiting his son Ryan in Kansas City. He loved spending time at Lake Drink a Lot, relaxing on the water and spending time with friends. He was the biggest cheerleader at his wife Jackie’s 5ks and marathons. He always had a smile on his face and a catchy nickname to bestow on his many friends and family. He will be missed dearly.

Donations honoring Mark’s memory are welcomed to support the Our M.O.M., Inc. Melanoma Endowed Fund at The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital. 3. My sympathies to the entire Mess family. Mark was a classmate and friend form Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic parish in south St. Louis. I played on many sports teams with Mark in grade school and hung out with him in the neighborhood. His father Val was one of my first coaches and like Mark a good man. I spent many good times at the Mess home near Lindenwood Park. RIP Mark.
