December 25, 1946 to April 9, 2018

Ronald Paul Ramlow passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members on Monday April 9, 2018. Ronald was a beloved musician, husband, father, and grandfather.

Ronald was born December 25, 1946 in Lincoln, Illinois by Paul and Tressa Ramlow, preceding his sister Carol Foster (Ramlow).  Ronald had a life deeply rooted in music since his childhood, learning guitar as a boy.  By high school, he was already in a band The Stormers with high school friend Clarence Newell. During the 70’s, he taught alongside Fred Palmer Jr. in the day, and played electric guitar in Fred Palmer and the Starlights at night. He later played along members from church. Over the years, he devoted himself to country and western music along with his friends and band mates Dick (Hoppy) Cassidy, John (Richard) Simms, and Steve Berra. He frequently attended Scotty’s steel guitar convention in St. Louis and was an avid listener to Fred Gumear’s Midday Jamboree on KDHX 88.1. He later played honky tonk/classic country music alongside  Arnie Kriemelman, Bo Chaloupek, Paul Jarvis, and many others.

Ronald was also a loyal husband of 40+ years to his wife Judy, and devoted father and grandfather. He drove trucks for a living for over 30 years. He was the life of parties and carried a sense of humor wherever he went. Ronald was a creative type in different ways besides music, and passed this trait to his children.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Judith Ramlow, his children Tracy Ramlow and Kevin Ramlow, cousin Linda Peterson, sister Carol Foster, and sister in-law Jan Jarnagin.

Ronald will be laid to rest in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery on 921 N. Ballas Road in Des Peres.

The Ramlow Family cordially invites friends, family, and acquaintances to his funeral and service below:
