Carl-Rosemann-Obituary-Photo

In Loving Memory

Rosemann, Carl Emmett

Rosemann, Carl Emmett entered God’s world on August 18, 1918, and returned to His rest on June 2, 2017, in Ballwin, Missouri.

He was born into the loving hearts of Martin and Mary (Krainz) Rosemann in St. Louis, Missouri. On October 20, 1945, he married Arbutus Fink and spent 70 years as her devoted husband and helpmate prior to her death in May 2016.  Dear Dad of Gail (the late Charles) Yates, Susan (Richard) Gieseke, Donald (Charlotte) (the late Gail), Richard (Donna), and Kenneth (Linda) Rosemann.  Loving Grandpa of Melissa (Brian) DuPerrett, Kevin, Scott (Lindsey), Nathan, the late Keith, Sara (Gama) Ortiz, Lori (Nathan) Reger, Cassie, Katie, Michele, and Jenna.  Dear great-grandpa of Kyle, Lauren, Jared, Jack, Hannah, Ty, Cole, Lina, Ryleigh, and Bella. Cherished brother and polka partner of Mary Ann Svoboda (nee Rosemann), brother of the late David, Elmer, Herbert, Martin, and Robert Rosemann, uncle, great-uncle, great great-uncle, godfather, cousin, and friend of many.  Grateful patient of Dr. Kyle Moylan and staff.

Carl was a humble man who was grounded in family, faith, hard work, and service to others. As such, he was adored and respected by all who knew him as well as by those who benefited from his 150% approach to any task and his generosity of self.  Throughout his life, family was his focus; the lessons he taught, values he instilled, and love he showed were exemplary.  He served as a church usher for 60 years, was a charter member of The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, and into his mid-90s wheeled those needing assistance into the chapel.  Carl retired from Emerson Electric Company as a manufacturing engineer.   He was active with youth serving on PTAs, coaching Khoury League teams, and receiving an Order of the Arrow from the Boy Scouts.  While examples of his beautiful woodworking can be found in churches and with family, hundreds of needy youth received carefully crafted wooden toys he made.

In an already full life, Carl managed to have fun: he was a loyal Cardinals fan who was a member of the Knothole Gang and celebrated all 11 World Series wins.  He enjoyed fishing, skating, dancing, playing baseball, golf, and water volleyball as well as cards, reading, and completing jigsaw puzzles.  We were proud of his records in the Senior Olympics and his participation in the Mature Mile; humble as always, he said that he just liked to walk.

Services: Visitation, Friday, June 9th 5 – 9 pm at Kutis Funeral Parlor, 10151 Gravois Road, Affton, MO 63123.   Saturday, June 10th in the chapel of Meramec Bluffs, #1 Meramec Bluffs Drive, Ballwin, MO visitation at 9 am and funeral service at 10 am followed by burial at Sunset Burial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Meramec Bluffs Benevolent Fund, #1 Meramec Bluffs Drive, Ballwin, MO 63021 or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
