Sandler, Kathleen “Kathy” M.

November 16, 1949 - January 24, 2026

Sandler, Kathleen “Kathy” M. (née Heimos) passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the age of 76. She was the beloved wife of the late Keith Sandler, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Loving mother to Kelly (Kevin) Peters, and a loving grandmother to Madeline, Bailey, and Carson Peters. She was also a cherished sister to the late Alvin (Pat) Heimos, the late Ronald (who is survived by Linda) Heimos, and the late Ken Heimos, as well as a dear sister-in-law to Marcia Kowelman, Mark Kowelman (Trish McGuire), and Paul (Susan) Kowelman. Her family included nieces and nephews Michael Heimos, Monica (Tony) Burnett, Maryann (Larry) Morris, Matt (Amber) Franke, and the late Becky Wagstaff, along with great-nieces and nephews Gavin and Kieran Burnett, and Mia Morris. Kathy was also a loved niece, cousin, and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Heimos and Katherine Bippen, and her step-father, Elmer Bippen.

Services: Funeral at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Thursday, February 5, 10 a.m. Burial J.B. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gateway Down Syndrome Association in honor of her grandson, Carson Peters.   1. So sorry for your loss. I will always remember her and our time at Walmart. She was such a sweet thoughtful lady she will be missed.

  2. We went to school together had great times, I did her hair for awhile, will miss her. She was such a great person to be around, no matter the situation she always had an up beat attitude.
    You will be missed, but you and Keith are together now.
