C. William (Bill) Whelehon went to be with his Lord at the age of 94 on July 30, 2024.  Bill was born on April 15, 1930, in Saint Louis Missouri to Charles and Mildred Whelehon (deceased).  He served in the Navy where he spent most of his time on a ship called the USS Waxbill.  Bill retired from military service in June 1955.  Bill met and married the love of his life Jane Huff on March 3, 1957.  Jane and Bill were married 67 years.  They had 4 children, Chuck (Jean), Diane (Ron), Steve, and Jim (Sue), 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  Bill was loved by many, including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Joe Bowman, his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Robbie and Ella Huff, and Kenny Huff.
Bill loved to fish, play golf and cribbage, and to play the harmonica.  Bill and Jane were members of Saint Michael the Archangel church in Shrewsbury, MO.  Bill loved his family and enjoyed all the family get-togethers, holidays and vacations.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 6, at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton, 10151 Gravois Rd, 63123, from 5-8 pm.  The funeral mass will be Wednesday August 7, at Saint Catherine Laboure Church, 9740 Sappington Rd. 63128, at 9:30 am with interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery 2900 Sheridan Rd. 63125 immediately following. In lieu of flowers please donate to the organization or charity of your choosing in Bill’s name.
