Beloved mother of the late Timothy Zerjav and Scott Oliver Jones and step-mother of Michael Zerjav; dear foster-mother of William Jacob Bodine and Joshua Hawkins; beloved daughter of the late Donald Oliver Leonard Jr. and the late Delma Ruthene Leonard (nee Bergman); dear sister of Donald “Jeff” (Carmella) Leonard, Kathryn Ruth Morshed and the late Steven Bradley (surviving Paula) Leonard; dear aunt of Bryan Leonard, Angela Leonard-Moreau, Jeffrey Leonard, Jami Morshed, Kevan Morshed, Lenny Leonard, Matthew Leonard and Andrew Leonard; dear aunt-in-law, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Christine will be remembered for her many spiritual Facebook posts.
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of
happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of
happy memories that I leave behind when the day is done.
I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is a perfect joy and beauty to his everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over; every restless tossing passed.
I am now at peace forever. Safely Home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly, trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus’ love illuminated every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me; in that way so hard to tread
And with Jesus’ arm to lean on; could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely; for I love you dearly still
Try to look beyond Earth’s shadows, pray to trust our Father’s Will.
There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand;
Do it now while life remaineth- You shall rest in Jesus’ land.
When that work is all completed; He will gently call you Home.
Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!

I’m going to miss Chris tremendously. I loved her for how she raised my son Michael. We were friends from the beginning. I’m glad she’s not in pain anymore. She’s in heaven looking down on us. My condolences to her family. May she live on in your memories.

Chris was a very loving an giving person. I will miss her. She took care of me and my brother when we lost our grandparents. I will be forever grateful that she accepted us in her house and family. That act of kindness reshaped my life for the better. I hope she is at peace and reunited with Tim.
