Rakowski, Dorothy “Dotty” M.

Dorothy “Dotty” M. Rakowski, 89, of St. Louis, MO born July 18, 1935, in East St. Louis, IL, died peacefully at Mercy South Hospital on June 2, 2025.

Dotty was a retired Assistant Vice President at Centerre Trust Company.  She was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in St. Louis, MO and honored in the St. Louis Softball Hall of Fame as a fast pitch pitcher following her 20+ year career as a softball player.

It was during this love of softball that she met her lifelong best friend, Shelley Miller.  Together they enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, fishing, boating, barbecuing and spending time with friends & family, especially at their lakehouse in Cuba, MO.  Later, Dotty enjoyed trips to Tunica to play video poker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary nee Gregowicz Rakowski, brother Raymond Rakowski, and sister-in-law Lorraine nee Yakubiak Rakowski, nephew Raymond Rakowski Jr., and great great niece Nora Jean Hutter.

Surviving are her best friend, Shelley Miller, nephew Bill (Nancy) Rakowski, niece Carol (Bill) Dixon, along with great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis https://dsagsl.org/donation/ or your favorite charity.

Visitation: Friends and family may pay their respect from 4pm-7pm, Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Kutis Funeral Home – 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Friday, June 6, 2025 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church – 6603 Christopher Dr, St. Louis, MO
