In Loving Memory

Wirth, Royal E.

January 4, 1931 - July 24, 2025

Royal E Wirth, 94, devoted husband, proud father, adoring grandpa and great grandpa passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Born on January 4, 1931, to the late Albert and Clara Wirth in Waterloo, Illinois. He grew up alongside his siblings, Arthur (Wanda) Wirth, Herbert (Leota) Wirth and Jeanette Wirth, all preceding him in death. From a young age Royal learned the values of faith, hard work and service. Royal served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a proud veteran.

Royal married the love of his life in 1956, Shirley (nee Sander) and together they celebrated 69 wonderful years together. They raised a beautiful family; son Robert and Susan Wirth and their children Drew (Cassie) and Blake. Daughter Kathleen and Jeffrey Schnoes and their children David (Stephanie) and Kaitlin Schnoes (Corey Collins) and great-grandchildren George, Elsie and Samantha Schnoes.
Da
A lifelong carpenter by trade, Royal proudly passed on his knowledge to his son and son-in-law. He contributed to countless construction projects at his father-in-law’s business, on the family farm and at his children’s homes, always lending a hand without hesitation.

Though carpentry and building were his life, fishing was his passion. Nothing made his smile more than casting a line with family and friends. He passed this love on to his son, grandsons, granddaughter and great-grandchildren, all touched by his joy and enthusiasm.

Our hearts are full and now so is the spiritual world with his presence.
