Ott, William Edward

September 9, 1942 - October 16, 2025

William (Bill) Edward Ott, age 83, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 16th, surrounded by the love and spirit of his family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Francis Ott and Hortense “Blondie” Ott (Bushman), and as husband of Barbra Levacy; Beloved father of William D. Ott (Wendy Kwan) and Greg Ott (Jenn), and Son’s surviving mother, Janet Ott.

A Graduate of Parkway Schools St Louis 1960, Devry Institute Technology Chicago 1963, and Lindenwood College (University) St. Charles 1975.

Bill was a passionate Radio Operator at heart working for Army Signal Corps, in Commercial Radio as a Broadcaster Engineer maintaining and building radio stations (KMOX, KHTR, KCLO, KCLC, KMWR, KYMC, KATZ) transmitting over the Missouri air waves.

As a radio technician, enjoyed electronics work from repairing tubed organs & TVs, teaching college students radio engineering skills, and participating inĀ  HAM radio builds such as RF repeaters with autopatch in his garage as a pioneer of basic wireless communication through mobile handsets known as cell phones.

Worked for Kmox Radio 32 years moved to Lake Ozark 1995, enjoyed living on and by the water, boating, volunteer officer for International Rotary Club, worked fundraisers campaigns for children charities, and was a compassionate landlord to many small businesses operating on the Bagnell Dam Boulevard.

He loved learning and sharing life lessons and teaching engineering practices from his adventurous experiences. Above all a supportive Father to many around him…

Funeral Services: Monday, October 27, Visitation from 9 am to 10:30 am at Kutis Funeral Home – Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123, 314-842-4458. Kutis Chapel Ceremony 10:30 am. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125 , 11:30 am.
