Maureen Joyce Olive (nee Rooney), 81, was fortified with the sacraments of the Mother Church on November 26, 2025. She was surrounded in her passing by her family, and was preceded in death by her husband Michael and her son, Michael, Jr. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kathy Powers (Mike), Karin Versen (Jim), Lisa Talarski (Tom), and Sandy; grandchildren Amanda Jelavich (Michael), Jamie Mahoney (Zach), Stephen Powers (Abrielle), Michael Olive, Andrew Olive, Eve Talarski, and Emilia Talarski; great-grandchildren Vincent and Mary Jelavich, Pennylaine and Daisey Olive, and Colson Mahoney.
Maureen, born in 1944 in St. Louis, MO, was a devout Catholic who raised five children. She was involved in her community of St. Stephen Protomartyr as a room mother, Girl Scout Leader, and member of the parish craft club. She worked for the Jesuits, as an in-home babysitter, and for the Missouri Highway Patrol. She enjoyed traveling with her family, being with her grand- and great-grandchildren, and, in the last few years of her life, volunteering at St. Simon. Beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was a true Christian who led with her actions and accepted all for who they were.
Visitation will be at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois on December 1, 4-8pm, with a funeral Mass on December 2, 10am at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church (11011 Mueller Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123). Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
