Hollowood, Richard Henry

February 25, 1945 - February 4, 2026

HOLLOWOOD, Richard Henry

Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at age 80, surrounded by family in Okemos, MI.

Survived by beloved wife Pamela (Tracy) Hollowood, son Rick (Erin), and grandchildren Dominick and Evelyn.  Dear son of the late Richard Joseph Hollowood and late Mildred (Overkamp), brother of Kate Martin, Marilyn Gibbons, and the late Patrick Hollowood.  Blessed with a great multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Rich attended Maryhurst Prep seminary in Kirkwood, St Mary’s H. S. and St. Louis University, majoring in accounting.  Rich proudly served in the U.S. Army from ’66-’68.  In 1967, he served in the Republic of Vietnam where he meritoriously received the Bronze Star Medal.

His first job after coming home from the Army was as an accountant with Anheuser Busch.  Rich became a national specialty steels executive and later founder of the Carbon Steel Corporation of America.

Rich and Pam Tracy married in 1985 and have one son, Richard James (Rick).  He loved his family to the beyond and could not be closer to them. The family loved being Notre Dame fans and had many interests together.  Rich loved his many good friends and was grateful and very honored to have them.

Always wanting small town life, where everyone knew everyone, he bought a small farm in Montgomery County and moved there after wedding.  They were welcomed by the community and immediately put to work volunteering.  Forty years of a wonderful, involving life had begun.

Rich loved community service and was active in many organizations.  Rich served his Church on parish councils and two 3-year terms on the Diocesan Pastoral Council, Diocese of Jefferson City.  He served on the Middletown Fire Dept. board for 15 years.  He was also a member of St Joseph Parish in Martinsburg, the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, and the Middletown Lions Club.

After 36 years on the farm, Rich and Pam recently moved to Okemos, MI to be near their grandchildren.  They were welcomed yet again and Rich valued the many friendships he came to have in recent years.

A patriot, Rich firmly believed the best hope for mankind is the values our flag represents.
