In Loving Memory

Hedji, Vidosava “Vida”

November 1, 1935 - March 7, 2026

Vidosava “Vida” Hedji

Vida was born Nov. 1st, 1935, in Treštanovci, Croatia, to Milica and Mile. She worked in the vineyard with her mother and loved to watch her father weave baskets. She had three siblings–Nevenka, Jovanka, and Dragan.

As she grew older, she loved to do needlework and make lace. Vida loved to sing and go to dances in the village.

After moving to Vukovar to live with her sister Nevenka, she met her husband, Ilija. They both worked in the shoe factory in town. They married in 1955, and Vida had her first daughter, Katica, in 1956. Her second daughter, Vikica, was born in 1960.

She was an amazing mother who loved from the depth of her soul. She was a wonderful storyteller, could heal any ailment, comfort any fear, sew a beautiful dress, and bake delicious desserts.

In 1966, Vida and her family moved to St. Louis, and the family grew from there. Katica (Jim Seevers) and Vikica (Rick Bolden) both married and gave Vida 5 grandchildren, Rickey, Tammy (Mike), Nicole, Tracy (Herschel), Sandi (Paul).

Fourteen great grandchildren–Alizsun (Matthew), Elizabeth (Alex), Mikey, Nathan, Samuel, Evelyn, Caylub, Trevor, Kylee, Robbie, Matty, Niki, Kenzie, and Bella–and four great great grandchildren–Nicole, Sylvia, Joseph, and Lydia–followed

Vida was loved by everyone who met her. She had the kindest, most loyal heart, and will be so greatly missed by those blessed enough to know her.

Services; Memorial visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Friday 3/20 from 4PM until service at 7PM. Private family interment.
