Ethel C. Fagin (née: Childs) of Fenton, Missouri, passed away on September 2nd, 2026 at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Fagin; loving mother of Kevin (Teresa) Fagin; adoring grandmother of Kelsey (Al) Schulz, Kaylee Fagin; and step-grandmother of Richard (Shauna) Ricks. Sister of Bill (Gladys) Childs, John Childs, Gene (Pat) Childs, Ralph (Jeannie) Childs, Alice (Len) Boehmer, Judy Childs, Peggie Hudson. Our dearest great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ellis Childs, Mother, Theodora Childs (née: Ressel), step-daughter, Patricia Ricks, and sister, Charlene (Ralph) Schuette.
Ethel was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard. Though he passed away far too soon, the life and family they built together remained her greatest pride, blessed above all by their son.
A devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ethel’s faith served as her steady anchor. It guided her everyday life in the quiet kindness, patience, and generosity she offered to everyone around her.
Ethel delighted in life’s simple joys. She had a famous affinity for sweet treats and loved searching for thoughtful gifts for her family. Always the first to show up to family gatherings, she was ready to lend a helping hand in any way she could—never expecting anything in return.
Ethel cherished her neighbors and the lifelong friendships she nurtured over the years. Above all, she treasured time spent surrounded by the family she adored. Her warmth, unwavering support, and bright spirit leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Memorial visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 17 Ann Ave. Valley Park, Mo. 63088 on Friday, September 18 from 9:30 am. until Funeral Mass time at 10:00 am. Interment at Sunset Cemetery.
