Reil, Harold George

age 90, reunited in heaven with his wife Leoma on Monday, March 13, 2017.

Born on March 19, 1926 this veteran Marine served in WWII with the 4th Division on Iwo Jima.  Harold was also a proud member of the Devil Dogs. The life long resident of Saint Louis married Leoma Schular in 1944. Together they had one  daughter Darline. After a successful career as an entrepreneur,  he served as Commandant for Marine Corps Detachment #183 for two terms.

This loving brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather is survived by his brother Lloyd Reil; daughter Darline, her  husband John Sweeney; grandchildren Jeff Heiney, Curtis and his wife Susan Heiney, Kathy and her husband Stephen Holt,  Renee and her husband Todd Ganley; great-grandchildren  Dylan, Jenna, Savanna, and Caleb Heiney, Drew and Abigail Ganley.

Harold was preceded in death by his siblings Esther, Mary, Rose, Bernice, and Robert, his wife Leoma, Linda Gildea, wife of Jeff Heiney and great-grandson James Holt.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255  Lemay Ferry Rd, Wednesday, March 15 from 10 am until time of Service at 12, Noon. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children’s  Research Hospital. []
