passed away on May 23, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born November 26, 1920 in Hinchcliff, Mississippi to Warren B. Hinchcliff and Louise Morris Hinchcliff.
He was a graduate of Mississippi State University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Upon graduation with a degree in Chemical Engineering, he was commissioned a second lieutenant and served with distinction as a Company Commander in the 86th Chemical Mortar Battalion, Company B, in the third Army under General Patton.
He married Margaret Hannah Greene of Starkville, Mississippi.
He is survived by his children Lucy Hinchcliff Kreader of St. Louis and W. Daniel Hinchcliff of Brandon, MS; granddaughters Shannon Kreader, Ashley Hancock and her husband Jared Hancock of St. Louis, and Blakely Ann Hinchcliff; great-granddaughter Nichole Kreader of St. Louis. In his later years he was blessed to have a very special friend, Evelyn Donnell of St. Louis.
He was an active church member wherever he lived, most recently at Webster Hills United Methodist Church. A man of multiple talents he was a master wood carver, accomplished wood worker, and photographer. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend.
Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Thursday, May 25, 3-7 p.m. with burial services at St. Paul Churchyard Friday, 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Children’s Home Society of Missouri or The Salvation Army.[]
