of St. Louis, MO returned to his heavenly home on July 4, 2017 at the age of 68.
Richard was born to parents Ray G. and Mildred E. Rose (nee Heafner) on March 14, 1949 in St. Louis, MO. He was the middle son of three boys. In 1971, he married his childhood sweetheart, Jean Marie Busken. They met when he was seven and she was five.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jean Marie (nee Busken). His brother Bob Rose (Vicki Roller), brothers-in-law: Tom, Robert and Daniel Busken. Sister-in-law: Cathy Rose. Nieces and nephews: David Rose (Denise) & Karen Wood (Steve), Nicholas, Alison, Alex, Jon, Jacob (Sara), Elizabeth Busken. Great nieces and nephew: Lauren and Jackie Osias & Ryan Rose. Cousins and many friends from Southwestern Bell and friends at his personal oasis the Indian Hills Lake at Casa de Rose and his fellow fishing and hunting enthusiasts. And, special thanks to his best friends, Leo and Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Mildred, brother Ron Rose, brother-in-law Jim Busken and nephew Tyler Busken.
Richard was proud of the work he did as a Southwestern Bell employee for the visit of Pope John Paul II in January 1999 and for the Clinton Debate in October 1992.
Services: Funeral arrangements are private. Jean Marie will host a celebration of life at a later date. The family is grateful for the condolences and in lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of your choice or have a gathering of friends and raise a toast in his memory. The family would like to thank the staff at de Greeff Hospice at St. Anthony’s Medical Center for their care and compassion during Rick’s final days. The family was served by Kutis Funeral Home.
