In Loving Memory

Swan, Stephen L.

Swan, Stephen L., age 59, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer, he was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Stephen was born July 25, 1959 to Delores (nee Cox) Swan-Busse and the late Benjamin D. Swan. He was one of five brothers, Daniel Swan, Mike Swan, David Swan, and Gary Swan. Stephen met his wife Janis (nee Patten) Swan in the year 1975. They were later married on October 11, 1980. During their marriage they had three children, Erin (Kevin) Breidenbach, Lisa (Adam) Pennycook and Stephen Andrew “Drew” (Alaina) Swan. Stephen “Papa” Swan was a loving grandfather to Landon, Logan, Oliver, Vivian, Colby, Henry and a baby to be born. Steve worked for Pepsi Cola for 42 years and would eventually move to Rolla to join the Pepsi Family where Steve and Janis would make life-long friends within their community.

Stephen was a loving Son, Husband, Brother, Father, and his most important role, a “Papa”. He will be greatly missed but we hold in our hearts that we will all meet again in Heaven on the bank of a river with a trout line cast in.

Service: A celebration of his life will be held at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Wednesday, February 27, with visitation from 1:00 to 5:00 pm with a service at 5:00 pm. Services conclude at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Siteman Cancer Center, appreciated.
