Bevan

In Loving Memory

Bevan, Joan R

Bevan, Joan R. (nee Koehrer), entered into rest on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Beloved wife of Robert L. Bevan; loving mother of Lynn (Thomas) Wilkerson and the late Robert L. Bevan Jr.; cherished grandmother “Rita” of Allison L. Steinbach and Sarah A. Steinbach; dearest step-sister of William A. Koehrer, Susan E. (Donald) Mueller and the late Peggy E. (Ed) Corey; sister-in-law of Joan E. (Wes) Moss; our dear cousin and friend to many.

Joan was a life-long Lutheran and a descendent of Perry County Saxon Lutheran immigrants. She spent many years teaching Sunday school and serving as a Sunday school department head. Many years were also spent as a Cub Scout or Girl Scout Troop Leader. One of her proudest achievements was in serving on the committee that started the Peace Lutheran Church Pre School in the 1970’s.

She was blessed with considerable artistic talent demonstrated by her excellent oil paintings and her ability to hand address wedding invitations using calligraphy. Her many interests also included reading mystery novels and watching mystery movies. On her many trips to her favorite vacation spot, Sanibel Island she spent hours daily looking for seashells and acquired a considerable number of them which she frequently used in an artistic manner.

A funny, witty lady, she was quick with a quip and was well known for her one-liners.

Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry, on Friday, August 19, 4-8 p.m. Funeral at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, 5252 South Lindbergh Blvd. (63126), on Saturday, August 20th, 9 a.m. Interment St. Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Christ Memorial Lutheran Church Worker Endowment Fund appreciated.
