Parcel

In Loving Memory

Parcel, Perry Alan

Son of Alve C. and Mildred O. nee Suska Parcel, was born May 8, 1955, in St. Louis, MO. During infancy, he was baptized at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church. He attended the St. Louis public schools and graduated in 1973 from Cleveland High School after which he briefly attended Southwest Missouri State University.

On June 1, 1974, he married Patti Ann Simpson who survives. To this union were born nine children who with their spouses and families survive. They are Ellie Parcel, Timothy (fiancé Elin) Parcel, Philip Parcel, Tracy (Eric) Cockrum, Rebekah Parcel, Stacy (Andrew) Schulte, Luke (Madeline) Parcel, Gabriel Parcel, and Heather (Nicholas) Albright; alongside the grandchildren; Michael Perry Schulte, Louie Ryan and Alvie Daniel Parcel, Billie Parcel, Henry Joseph Albright, and anticipated arrival of Vincent Schulte in July 2023. Also, surviving is his mother Mildred Parcel, his sister Christine Peterson, and many other relatives and friends.

Perry was preceded in death by his father Alve, brother-in-law Ronald Peterson, granddaughter Alexis Parcel and Tracy (Eric) Cockrum’s son Christian.

After completing his formal education, Perry was employed by Reliance Security Service, a firm owned and operated by his parents. Eventually, he became its Personnel Manager and remained in that position until his fathers’ passing. He then undertook the operation of the firm until societal changes and employment competition caused him to close his office on Gravois Road and retire at age 62 in 2017. Perry’s most important thing in life was his faith in Jesus Christ and his family.

Perry experienced relatively good health until the advances of age began to weaken his condition. Following retirement, his mobility continued to diminish, causing him eventually to be consistently homebound until finally experiencing a debilitating stroke on Saturday, May 13. On Sunday, May 14  he was admitted to Mercy-South Medical Center where he remained until transferred to DeGreeff Hospice on May 24. After being there four days, having been surrounded by his family and loved ones, he peacefully departed this life at 5;12 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023, and into God’s Heavenly Kingdom. He attained the age of 68 years ad 20 days.

Visitation at Peace Lutheran Church, 737 Barracksview Road, on Friday June 2 from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment St. Trinity Cemetery.

  2. I love you oh so much Dad!!! Thanks for being such a good example in so many ways. Being my friend and really being my moral compass on any subject that was bothering me. With always a dash of a humor, that only the good ones understand. You will forever live in me and I’ll pass on to the boys. See you in heaven!

  6. I love you Dad. I miss you so much already. I had a Bible question pop in my head last night, and as I usually would I called out your name and headed to your room to see if you would know the answer or have any thoughts…it dawned on me halfway to your room that your earthly presence is gone…

Thanks for always having the time and love for all your family, friends, employees, and countless strangers.

    Love you big guy.
