Beverly Ann Amelung (Niccum)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverly Amelung on October 7, 2024, at the age of 82. Beverly was born on February 16, 1942 in Wabash, IN, to Marion and Maxine (Jones) Niccum.
She is survived by her husband William Amelung; her children Stephanie Schroeder and Daniel Schroeder; her step-children Terry Card(Amelung) and Andrew Amelung; her grandchildren Jillian, Scot, Lauren, Leah, Brooke, William, and Ellie; her great-grandchildren Baron, Ledger, Wyatt, and Delilah; as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Beverly studied Art Education at Purdue University graduating in 1965. She initially taught Art in Lancaster, PA but then became interested in computers and earned an associates in Computer Programming. She then began a career with American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) that lasted for over 30 years until retirement.
She was an avid hunter and competitive clay pigeon shooter; she was the MO state women’s Trap champion in 1987 & 1988. She also was passionate about training retrievers for Hunting Retriever Club (HRC) hunt tests. She spent years traveling the country as a judge for the HRC hunt tests and enjoyed mentoring women and youth dog handlers. She was a member of Gateway HRC Club and Retrievers Unlimited HRC Club.
She never met a stranger and loved to share her baking skills and expertise in crafts. She was renowned for her woodworking and artwork.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Marion & Maxine Niccum and her brother, Mike Niccum.
There are no services planned. A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined.
