  2. The Peroutka family is so sad to hear about the loss of Jane. What a wonderful, amazing teacher of my three adult children at St Dominc’s in the late ‘80s early ‘90s. Continued contact with Jane through yearly Christmas Cards and would see Barry & her on other occasions and be so excited to see them!! Such a great lady!!

She left such a legacy of love and care for not only her family but also her students, friends, and neighbors. 8. Barry, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers. Jane was a favorite teacher of my sons at St. Dominic’s in the 80’s. I appreciated how she would have the class put on a show each year and how her classroom was filled with monkeys.

  9. All of my thoughts and memories of Jane are of a sweet, likable, talented young girl/woman with an infectious smile and accepting manner. I never heard a negative word from Jane about anyone. She was energetic, vivacious and, any suffering or pain she may have been in later in life, she wore it with dignity and grace, and didn’t utter any complaint.
Her Notre Dame classmates will miss Jane at our lunches and get togethers but her memory will always be with us.

I remember my friend (Julia Fierst) and me recording Morning Train by Sheena Easton on my cassette player and playing it at recess for Mrs. Bainter and how much love and praise she gave us! (Underserved for our 5th grade voices! 🙂 )
She was one of the best and I know she will be lovingly missed by so many family and friends. My condolences to you all. 🩷

  15. Barry, Christy and I are both so sorry for your loss.

From the time we moved into your Fathers house, you, Jane and your family has been a blessing to us. From generously inviting and including us in family events, to being there as friends and sharing life’s ups and downs.

One of my first memories was visiting your house on a special occasion, early in our friendship, and I noticed a letter from Tracey to her Mom that Jane has proudly displayed on a table in your living room. Maybe more of an observation. The letter was one of love, gratitude and respect for inspiring Tracey to become the woman she is today. It was beautiful, and I knew this house was full of love. Jane may be gone, but she lives through Tracey, Tim and Jeff, and your memories of her. What a wonderful family you have.

I never saw her without a smile, I don’t think I ever saw you two argue, and the only sarcastic sentence I ever heard come out of her mouth, was when Jane and I were talking about you purchasing a surround sound system, and she said “Yeah, Barry needs that”. I think she ended up liking it though.

Everyone who knew Jane will miss her.

    Bless you and your Family

  16. I first met Jane while teaching at St. Dominic Savio, and have always considered her one of my favorite people in this world. She will be remembered for her kindness to everyone who shared time with her. So often, she gave of her talents like her musicals performed by her classes, and the many gifts she created for friends. I treasure a beautiful picture album she made for my retirement. Jane had a quiet way of garnering respect from her colleagues, students and parents through her compassion, intelligence, and expertise., no need for boastful pride: respect was earned. Jane was a steadfast friend and champion for what is right.

Our families have shared many loving and sacred moments: weddings, confirmations, crises, and deaths. We knew Jane and Barry were always there for us, and hope we have given them the same respect. Our prayers for Barry, Tim, Jeff, Tracey, and all Jane’s loved ones is to know that Jane is at peace in God’s loving arms.

I believe Jane would want us to remember all the happy times and see her smile and know……..her life was good.

  17. Barry, we are so sorry to hear of Jane’s passing away. Your love for one another was so evident when you were together! Jane was an incredibly gifted teacher. She gave so much of herself to her students at St Dominic Savio. She touched our lives and our son’s. Her dedication in the classroom and in the plays she directed brought life to her students and our SDS community. She excelled in teaching academics but taught her students to excel in being the best person they could be. Her love for her students and alums came back to her a hundredfold. We were blessed to have known her.
    Love….the Leibrecht Family
