In Loving Memory of Leonard Detmer Jr.
It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the passing of Leonard Detmer Jr.
Leonard leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Detmer, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, family, and memories. He was a devoted father to his five children: Leonard Detmer III and his wife Sandy, Dawn Sitze (Detmer), Tom Detmer, Don Detmer and his wife Cristy, and Tracy Swann (Detmer) and her husband Dave Swann.
Leonard was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. Family was the center of Leonard’s life, and his greatest pride was watching generations of his family grow.
Leonard was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and loyalty. He served as President of Lemay Concrete Block until his retirement, continuing a family legacy begun in 1947 by his father, Leonard Detmer Sr. Through his leadership and commitment, he helped carry forward the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance that built the company.
Beyond his career accomplishments, Leonard will be remembered most for his devotion to his family and friends. He was someone people could depend on—steady, caring, and deeply invested in those he loved. His presence, guidance, stories, and love leave a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Leonard’s legacy lives on through his wife of 60 years marriage, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all whose lives he touched.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.

Deepest Sympathy RIP Lenny…
I loved my brother Lenny. We were inseparable growing up on Watchel. After school at Gethsemane we would take the bus to Lemay Block and play on the hills surrounding the plant. Dad was so happy to see us. He was the smartest of all the Detmer children, especially in math. At Lutheran South he would meet me and do my math. I have wonderful memories of my caring and kind brother. I will miss you.
Beautiful Sharon.
❤️❤️❤️
Lenny was my neighbor and I will always remember all the great times we had together. Lots of laughs and he made the best BBQ. We will miss you my friend but I will always remember how kind and caring you were. Rest in peace.
We were fortunate to have Lenny and Linda as neighbors in Branson for a few years and it created many long lasting memories. We know Lenny is in a much better place and our thoughts and prayers are with Linda and family at this very sad time!
I will never forget the laughs pranks and most importantly the skills you taught me even pop starting a forklift that didn’t run lol and so much more antics and shenanigans around the plant until we meet again buddies forever
Love Johnny
I always liked Lenny. He gave me a job in 1979 at the plant when I was going through some tough times. He cared a lot about family and liked to have fun. He will be remembered by his whole family. RIP Lenny!
