To the David Ehnes’s Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on David’s passing. Though his recent illness slowed him up, our infrequent visits still brought out that smile and laughter I will always remember. May the Lord’s peace be with you all at this sad time…
Uncle Dave, you were loved by so many and brought smiles to countless faces. I have a lot of memories to cherish and you will be deeply missed. I love you Uncle Dave.
Dave was an active member and served as the Treasurer of the 16th Ward Democratic Organization. His efforts in serving our neighborhood, ward and city will be appreciated and remembered for a long, long time
Uncle Dave, like his sister and brothers, always made me feel happy to be seen. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and will be sorely missed.
My sincere sympathy to all the family and friends of Dave. I worked for Dave for about 12 years cleaning his home. We became good friends, and shared our love of old cars together. He was a kind and generous person, and it was my privilege to know him and call him my friend.
Sincerely
Ross E. Gabriel

Everybody should have an Uncle David in their Lives!
I will remember my Uncle David for His gentle spirit and acceptance of everyone he met. His great style, especially his hats and jackets.
He was so much fun. He loved going to tropical gardens with us & art festivals with my Dad (ALL OF THEM). He was a free spirit I felt when I was young & I was excited to hear what he had done during the day when I was at school. He seemed to always be going on adventures…biking to the beach or to coconut grove & vizcaya. My memories of Uncle David are joyful: Long thanksgiving dinners, decorating our house and tree for Christmas, bringing us wonderful baked goods from St. Louis that reminded mom of her family’s bakery. He gave the most unique gifts that we couldn’t wait to open…what would it be this time my brother, sister & I would joke…
I just will always remember him as being so thoughtful loving & kind and I will miss him dearly.
To David; my brother and uncle to my children. These two unique roles
have brighten the lives of all of us, and leave a hole in our hearts that
will be impossible to fill. Rest in Peace.
