Darla-Hemrick-2

In Loving Memory

Hemrick, Darla J.

Darla J. Hemrick (nee Sippel)

A bright light was taken far too soon, on May 19, 2023, after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer.  Darla will be remembered for her outgoing personality, love for others and her natural ability to make all feel welcome and loved.

Born April 17, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri to Mike and Joy Sippel, Darla attended the Mehlville School District, completed her undergraduate degree at William Woods University where she was a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, received her Masters degree in Special Education from Webster University and completed her Doctor of Education from Maryville University.  Darla dedicated her professional career to special education shining her light at The St. Louis Special School District, Annie Malone Children and Family Services, Great Circle and Confluence Academy.  She was loved and respected by students, parents, and administration.

She is the cherished mother of Sophia Hemrick (Ben), David-Kyler Hemrick (Jessie), Billy Hemrick (Angie), Danny Hemrick (Gabrielle), partner of Bill Hemrick and loving grandmother of Riley-Joy and Reese Clara Hemrick.  Darla is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents Mike and Joy Sippel and leaves behind her brother, Dean Sippel (Jennifer Steffen) as well as Nieces, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends.
