  2. I only knew him these last few years, but his gentleness, smile, and laughter really touched my heart, along with many others here. I’ll especially miss him at our bingos! Wishing peace and love to all his family and friends.

  3. My very first experience with Bob was on a fire 3 doors away from my house. I had done a quick assessment of the fire and told him I was a firefighter and the fire was in the basement. Together we pulled a hose line in and extinguished the the fire. That was about 1978. When I started at Mehlville Fire Bob was more than welcoming. Later after he retired we found ourselves watching his granddaughters and my daughters volleyball games together. Of all of my first captains I enjoyed him the most.

  7. Fond memories of Capt. Hipp. Never worked with him but my father did and always liked the man. Easy going, no nonsense , get the job done and go back to the firehouse kinda guy.
My memories were of a man I seen through the eyes of a kid growing up. Firehouse visits , Fire Dept. Functions , Fire Dept. Picnics – great times as Mehlville Firefighters we were one big family back then.
He and his lovely wife Marylin were inseparable- May he rest in peace.
