Beloved husband of Debra Holley (nee Fritz) for 40 years. Father of Matt (Allison) Holley and Kristin (Nick) Montero. “Pop Pop” to Benjamin, Owen, Sullivan and Mia. Son of the late Edward “Bo” and Marie Holley. Friend and mentor to so many.
With a larger-than-life personality, Steve’s passion for people extended far beyond his decades of work at Anheuser Busch. Steve dedicated his life to teaching, coaching and supporting the mission of St. Louis Guns ‘N Hoses. His leadership, friendship, and commitment to others left an immeasurable impact on countless lives. If you knew Steve, you loved him and knew he would take care of you.
More than anything, Steve considered being a father and grandfather his greatest accomplishment in life.

SH, you are greatly missed already. We’ll do our best to continue the GNH mission.
This one hurts. Steve’s dedication to his mission was unmatched. The community has lost such a force. My condolences to his family and friends. Steve will always be loved, cherished and respected.
I first met Steve at SEMO where we played rugby together and became good friends. We later crossed paths when we were both involved in Guns n Hoses. He dedicated himself and was an Icon to that great organization since the beginning. Helping the families of first responders tremendously.
I will miss you brother RIP🥊🇺🇸
It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Steve Holley.
On behalf of the members of the IAFF 2nd District throughout the St. Louis Metro Area, we extend our sincere condolences to Steve’s family, friends, and the St. Louis Guns ‘N Hoses community.
Steve was a dedicated supporter of firefighters and first responders throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. His commitment to the mission of Budweiser Guns ‘N Hoses reflected a genuine desire to help those in need and to strengthen the community he cared deeply about.
He was widely respected across the public safety community for his steady support, willingness to help, and the strong relationships he built over many years of involvement. His contributions made a meaningful difference to both the organization and the people it serves.
Steve’s presence will be missed within the St. Louis fire service community. His efforts and dedication leave a lasting impact that will be remembered by those who worked alongside him and by the families of fallen heroes who were helped through his efforts.
In Solidarity,
Mark Woolbright

Steve was an amazing guy, a positive force and a thoughtful educator. I’m so sorry.
I cherish the honor and privilege for knowing Steve for many years. From playing soccer at the River des Peres Greens to working with Steve at AB to meeting for lunch (never frequently enough) for years. Steve devoted his life to serving others…his family first, sales professionals, university students, and numerous STL civic causes. Steve, I give you my highest compliment…you were a first class gentleman.
Much Love for a man who gave so much to everyone around him, and had so many friends. Love to his family and close friends. He will be missed, but left an amazing legacy of love and caring for others…especially thise in need.
I want to express my deepest condolences during this difficult time as I heard of Steve’s passing.
Steve was the kind of person who left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. From the very beginning of his fitness journey with me, he trusted me wholeheartedly and was always willing to try something new. His determination, work ethic and willingness to embrace challenges were truly inspiring. What started as a trainer client relationship quickly grew into a genuine friendship that I will always cherish.
What stood out most about Steve wasn’t just his drive, it was his heart. He spoke about his family with immense pride and love. Some of my favorite conversations with him were listening to him talk about the people he cared about most. His passion for his family was evident in every story he shared and it was clear that they were the center of his world.
Steve’s strength, kindness, loyalty, and spirit touched so many lives. I feel incredibly grateful to have known him and to have called him a friend. His memory will continue to inspire me and I will always remember the laughter, conversations, and unwavering determination that made him so special.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time.
God Bless Steve Holley, his family, the countless friends he made and all his acquaintances he made thru Anheuser Busch and St. Louis Boxing Association. He followed his father’s footsteps in making Guns N Hoses the largest contributor to the St. Louis Backstoppers Association. Thank you Steve for all the years you donated your time in making our young people winners and St. Louis Boxing the best in the Nation.
You’ll be missed Steve.
A unique individual with a heart of gold.
CBC classmate “1974”
God bless you with open arms
Sincere condolences to the Holley Family. Steve was great to work with at A-B, and generously donated tickets to Guns N Hoses to our annual A-B Alumni & Friends Charity Golf Tournament. RIP Steve!
I met this great guy because of Guns n Hoses. He was always straightforward and had such compassion for the families of any fallen first responder. Watching him work those fights was amazing—- he was in charge and everyone knew it. He made sure that the workers, ticket sellers and those who did fundraising for the event were recognized. He was definitely an earthbound angel. Now he will watch over the survivors from his newest ring!! Rest easy Steve. You will never be forgotten.
he was a true leader for the young amateur boxing guys/ girls but also a true lkeader in all of the amateur boxing matches yep gosh he will be missed!!
Steve was such a very dear friend. A friend that never asked anything in return for a favor. He did so much for so many. St. Louis lost an icon, but heaven gained an angel. I’m praying our sadness will gradually be replaced by our many fond memories of him. .
Steve. RIP my long time friend.
A true friend of First Responders
Steve was a very special person. I remember the great days at ABR when Steve was there. My thoughts and prayers are with his family
My condolences to all who loved Steve. I always enjoyed working with him at AB-BSN. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
Steve was one of my Leadership professors at Slu. He was an amazing person and his class was one of my favorites. His vest will always stay iconic.
Steve. Was a true warrior for
Amateur boxing. A great guy all all around !! Yep
One of my greatest honors in my life is to know that Steve was a great friend. Rest in peace my brother, you will always be remembered.
Steve, was a great person. He was so dedicated to BackStoppers and did such an amazing job representing BackStoppers and the Guns and Hoses event. He is going to be missed. The Guns and Hoses event will never be the same.
My deepest sympathy for Steve. 🙏
Rest in peace brother
As Kyle Coble mentioned Steve was a fabulous dynamic instructor for Lindenwood University. He helped the Student Human Resources Club organize a huge and memorable community event for Guns and Hoses with fire fighters, swat team, K9, police cars, and the equine officers interacting with our students.
It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of our friend Steve. The entire Walters Golf Management Family loved supporting his passion and quite honestly it was easy to do. Why, what separated this from other great causes, it was Steve. You did not feel an obligation to help, you knew it was the right thing to do as he made you feel the same way about Guns n Hoses as he did! This one hits hard and he will not only be missed, but hard to replace. There was only one Steve Holley!!!!
On behalf of WGM!
Love ya buddy, rest in peace!
Steve was my baseball coach along with Jim Thomas my final year of playing. He was a very nice man and a fantastic coach. I crossed paths with him some years later as I worked my way through college, I wasn’t sure if he’d remember me but he did. And when we parted once more he gave me a firm handshake and pulled me in for a bro hug. My deepest condolences to Matt and the entire Holley family.
Coach Steve. He’s one of the greatest men I’ve ever known. I’m heartbroken man. He was my coach at Kirkwood JFL. The GOAT! Coach would pick me up almost everyday and run me to Marshall field no matter where I was living at the time. He helped change and mold me as a man. I’m forever grateful for you coach and I’ll be there one last time as you were there for me everytime I needed you. Love you caoch
The officers and board of directors of St Louis Amateur Boxing are saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. He was a past president of St Louis Amateur Boxing and served the position well. Steve was a great organizer and worked countless hours on the St Louis Golden Gloves tournament during his tenure as President.
His greatest accomplishment was the Annual Guns & Hoses Event that meant so much to him. Our sympathy goes out to his wife, children, grand kids and his entire family. He will be missed by the boxing community in St Louis.
I was saddened to learn of Steve’s passing. Steve and I were teammates early in my career at Anheuser-Busch, and I learned a great deal from him about wholesalers, the beer business and the importance of building strong relationships. Steve represented the very best of the A-B culture that many of us were fortunate to experience. He understood that success in the beer business was built one relationship at a time, and he had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went.
Whether through his work, his friendships or his community involvement, Steve made a positive impact on many people, and especially on me. I learned a great deal from him throughout my career, and I will always be grateful for his friendship, guidance and example.
My thoughts and prayers are with Steve’s family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

I first met Steve in grade school playing baseball for Hampton Village. I lost track of him for many years but thru a mutual friend he volunteered to help coach for a grade school football program that I was running and he was still the same great guy. He was always there if I needed anything all I had to do was ask. Those guys don’t come around often. Steve will be missed by many for his selflessness and generosity. I know I’ve lost a friend I could count on for anything. St. Louis has lost one of it’s greatest supporters and will be less from his passing. God bless you Steve !!!
I first met Steve when he was a carhop at Steak N Shake. We became fraternity brothers at SEMO, played softball together, & drank a few beers along the way. Steve reached out to me & invited me to become involved with the Backstoppers. As a young lawyer trying to find my way around the criminal justice system, it never hurts to have friends on the force. It really helped me personally & professionally. A big part of any success in my field is a result of Steve’s friendship & generosity. To have Steve’s stamp of approval meant something. I will miss him.
We are so very sorry for your loss. We did not know your Dad.
From what we have read about him, he must have been an amazing man. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.
I had great admiration for Steve and his charitable efforts. He was an example for all and an inspiration to many.
Steve was the heart and soul of Guns and Hoses working tirelessly to build one of the greatest support programs for first responders in our region. He truly loved and supported those who sacrificed for the community that he loved. It was not only a great honor to be his Guns and Hoses program associate for twenty-five years, but also a dear friend. He always wore a smile. He always had a funny and friendly comment. Steve will live in the hearts of so many for so long.
Our deepest condolences to the entire Holley family. We are thinking about and praying for you during this difficult time. Steve’s many years of teaching truly made an impact for so many of our students…he will be greatly missed. May the memories of Steve always stay alive in your minds and hearts.
