Jenny Maniaci

In Loving Memory

Maniaci, Jenny V. (nee Alvernia)

August 1, 1928 - November 3, 2024

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Sunday, November 3, 2024. She was 96 years of age.

Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Michael P. Maniaci. Dear daughter of the late Jim and Fannie Alvernia. Dear mother of Mary Braun, Joseph (Nancy) Maniaci, Fanny (David) Roller, James (Debra) Maniaci, Jeanne (James) Heisner, and Annette (Robert) Royer. Loving grandmother to Michael (Kathryn) Braun, Denise (Matthew) Hall, Jennifer (Christopher) Turdo, Michael Maniaci, Anthony Maniaci, Jason (Erin) Maniaci, Joseph (Emily) Behrens, Tammy (Donnie) Nelson, Danny (Lauren) Behrens, Gary (Kris) Maniaci, Nichole (Dirk) Kelling, Mark (Tiffany) Maniaci, Lauren (Ryan) Foley, Jimmy (Laura) Heisner, Melissa (Stephen) Eschmann, Lindsay (Ian) Fazio, Robert (Angela) Royer, Jeffrey (Lindsay) Royer, Brian (Jenn) Royer. Great grandmother to 24.

Dear sister and sister-in-law to Josephine (the late Larry) Barriner, and the late Rose (Sam) Ciarametaro, Mike (Romaine) Alvernia, Laura (Charles) Vogler, Josie Alvernia, and Ida (Joseph) Destito. Our dear aunt, cousin, and godmother.

Jenny was raised in the Catholic faith as a child and practiced that faith throughout her life. She and her husband, Mike, were members of Immaculate Heart, St. Timothy, and St. Mark parishes. They taught their six children to learn about and love the Lord, and enrolled all six children in St. Timothy’s Grade School to further build their Catholic foundation.

Jenny’s love and devotion to her family was always her top priority. Mom enjoyed visiting her children’s homes, grandchildren’s activities, and attending all family birthdays. She and Dad hosted many family gatherings over the years, especially during the holidays. Pasta House was the go-to restaurant for Mother’s and Father’s Days’ celebrations and anniversary dinners. Mom served up a great spaghetti sauce, eggplant parmesan, homemade chicken soup and baked chicken. Best memories include her marathon Christmas cookie baking sessions with Dad, sitting next to the oven, to watch for the perfect cookie results. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially tending flowers in her backyard. She also enjoyed her time with her fellow employees/friends at the Bayless High School cafeteria. We sorely miss her but know that she is now united with our father.

SERVICES: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON,10151 Gravois, Fri., Nov. 8, from 10:15 am to St. Mark’s Catholic Church for 11:00 am Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Masses preferred. Visitation Thursday, 3-8 pm.

    • Sr. Anne, it was truly a beautiful surprise to read your lovely message. Thank you so much for your kind words during this very sad time for our family. We lost our father 23 years ago and since then, our lives have really been centered around mom. She took care of us as much as we took care of her. We feel so blessed to be her children. We will miss her every single day forever. Please pray for our dear mother that she be at peace, in Paradise with our father and our Lord. Love, the Maniaci children – Mary, Joe, Fanny, Jim, Jeanne, Annette

  7. I have very fond memories of Mrs Maniaci. Spending times at the house, as a close friend of Fanny, I always felt so welcome. When she worked in the cafeteria at Bayless her children’s friends always got a little extra scoop and a big smiling “hello”.

  11. There will never be any one like Aunt Jenny! She was kind, compassionate, always had a smile on her face and was very appreciative of any visit, meal made just for her and anything you did for her at all. Even if that was just grabbing her an ice cream from the freezer. She always had a compliment for you, no matter what you were wearing. I will forever miss popping in to visit with her and whichever cousin was there that day. Forever in our hearts.
