Brooks A. McArthy, age 64, the loving husband of Shari L. (Henry), went to be with the Lord on Monday February 12, 2024 in his Imperial home. Mr. McArthy was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 22, 1959, to Brooks C. McArthy and Janis (Laiben) McArthy. After spending his childhood in the South St. Louis County area, he would go on to be a graduate of Lindbergh High School (1978). After mastering a competitive level of swimming and water polo in high school, he moved on to his first practice of saving lives as an official lifeguard at Suson pool where he met his beautiful bride. He quickly got to work building a loving family of his own while assisting his father erecting apartments, trailer courts, and eventually Deer Creek Golf Course around the area. With the skills he learned working with his father he was able to work for himself the majority of his life providing essentials, many amazing skills and memories for his wife and five children. Most importantly, he provided a great example of what it meant to be true and solid in his faith that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Once “retired” he spent his later years squeezing in every round of Golf possible while still tending to the needs of his family, whilst continuing the work to save lives, beyond his life guarding years and beyond this earth, by sharing the Love and Truth of Jesus Christ.

Brooks was my nephew and filled in as my “Son” at the passing of my two sons — Our connection was strong not only as Family but in our Personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which we shared many times over the Years ~~ My Love for Brooks will ever be a Part of who I am – as I await for the Time I see him again in Heaven in the presence of Our Gracious Lord ~~ Lovingly , I AM , AUNT JAN
Oh Aunt Janet. He loved you so so much. Your faith has shown & I’m so sorry for all your own heartache.
I am a nobody to this family; but Brooks was like a brother to me. My wife and I have been in adult Bible study with Brooks & Shari since our kids were in elementary school, and they are now grown. I don’t have Brooks skill set in construction, but he helped me in priceless ways. I don’t even remember how many years ago, Brooks and I were “leaders” of a 6th grade boys Sunday school group @ FBCA. He told me “I was in charge” and he was there just for backup, he forced me to grow spiritually. I’ve seen his love for the Lord over many years, and right now, the English language fails me to express my feelings. I loved this man as a brother. He will be missed, but I have absolute faith we will meet again.
This is such a SWEET message to read. I appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. ❤️
Not a “nobody” to me or Brooks Dave; you were a loving brother to him , we love you and Sharon dearly 💓🩵

So sorry about your loss my prayers are with you
I was blessed to be friends with Brooks in High School. He was a great guy who always made life better. He absolutely beamed over his bride Shari and their beautiful children. I can only imagine he was the best grandpa ever. I admired the incredible family man he became and even more, the man of God he was. I regret not staying in touch but Brooks will always have a special place in my heart. I extend my prayers and deepest condolences to all Brooks’ precious family and many friends.
Such sweet words! 💞
So saddened to hear of Brooks home going. I didn’t know it till Wednesday. Please accept our deepest sympathies from the entire Hackerson family. God works in mysterious ways which are not our ways but to know that your dear husband, father and son is rejoicing in heaven with his Lord and Savior, makes the sadness a little bit brighter! Praying for your family.
My condolences to the entire family. For anyone who met him, his love for Christ Jesus and our Heavenly Father was so evident. I can hear our Lord saying, ” Well done my good and faithful servant.” He wanted everyone he met to not miss out on forgiveness of sins or the assurance of eternal life. May the Lord be with you all.
