McCrary

In Loving Memory

McCrary, Thomas T.

August 16, 1951 - November 2, 2024

Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Beloved husband of the late Rebecca “Becky” McCrary (nee Weatherford); dear companion of Rita Hile; loving father of Cyndi (Aaron) Grand and Kelly (Steve Renfro) McCrary-Renfro; adoring grandfather of Sarah and Lauren Grand, Carter Renfro and Gavin Harris; dear brother of the late Selma (Bob) Essmyer and Mary (surviving Rich) Rammelsburg; dear brother-in-law of Steve Wittaker, Randy and Roger (Theresa) Weatherford. Our dearest uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Tom passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at the home he shared with his love and companion, Rita. Tom was born in Independence, MO, but grew up in St. Louis as the youngest of three children.  He married his beloved wife Becky, whom he met in high school, and lovingly cared for in her final days. Following his graduation from Roosevelt High School, and then SLCC, he went on to work for McQuay Norris, Moog Automotive, and eventually retired from the St. Louis City Street Department where he worked for over 20 years.

Tom’s true passion in life was his family. He loved spending time with his loved ones playing dominoes, watching movies, and telling stories about growing up in St. Louis. He also enjoyed playing softball (in his younger years), fishing, reminiscing with fellow Roosevelt graduates at The Mack, and taking cross-country road trips. He was an adoring and loving “Papa” to his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Tom will be greatly missed and his memory will live forever in the hearts of those he loved!

Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Friday, November 8 at 10:00 am. Interment at Sunset Cemetery. in lieu of flowers, memorial to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or American Heart Association appreciated. Visitation on Thursday, November 7 from 4-9 pm.

  5. Rita and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Tom and I went to school together. We played on the Tower Grove Baptist Youth basketball team together. Really liked him. We last saw him at the Roosevelt reunion a couple of years ago. Due to conflicts, I will not be able to attend the visitation or funeral. I’m so sorry that I cannot attend. Remember though that even death can never remove the love, the legacy and the memories that Tom leaves behind. May God comfort you as only He can do. 1 Peter 5:7.
