Ronald Maxie McGlaughlin
August 12, 1958 – July 5, 2024
One of Ron’s greatest joys was music. He wrote many songs and had “My Love” published on October 31, 1975. He played and taught guitar, had three bands, directed church music and choirs, serenaded his young daughter to sleep and sang when ever possible.
In addition to his love for music, Ron was extremely proud to have been an over-the-road trucker, elementary school bus driver and OATS driver for handicapped adults.
He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his daughter Amy, her husband Brandon, their children Grant and Emily Sams; three siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
While we mourn the loss of this “big kid-at-heart”, his spirit will live on in the memories we share. May Ron find eternal peace with his precious Jesus and be surrounded by those he loved and missed.
In lieu of a service or viewing, Ron’s ashes will be spread in his beloved foothills of Branson and a memorial brick will be laid in his honor at Busch Stadium.
My sincere condolences to the family. Ron will always hold a special place in my heart. He was a thoughtful, mild mannered man with a great voice for country music. The very first band I played in was the Country Gents when I was 15 years old and Ron was 16. His father Marvin was our agent. I went on to play many different kinds of music in multiple bands through the years and always credited Ron and his father for getting me started.
Thanks David. I remember you in the “Country Gents”. I was Ron’s first wife Kathy.
