  2. Jake’s life was rich with love and grace,
A family man with a smile on his face.
    His humor brightened every day,
And in his heart, joy found its way.

A veteran brave, in the Korean War,
He served with honor, his spirit soared.
For 33 years at Nooter he toiled,
With skillful hands, in wood he was soiled.

His garden bloomed with tender care,
And music flowed, a love he’d share.
In the German Society, his heart did sing,
Loved and missed, his memory brings.

I always cherished my conversations with Jake, even when my German was a bit garbled. Discussing a myriad of topics with him never failed to bring smiles to our faces.
