Carol Wagner

In Loving Memory

Wagner, Carol Jean (nee Mueller)

September 15, 1939 - November 27, 2025

The world lost a beautiful and radiant soul when Carol Jean Mueller Wagner left us on November 27, 2025, after bravely facing Alzheimer’s disease and its devastating progression.

Beloved wife of the late Richard Wagner Sr. Loving Mother of Andy Smith (Kristen), Melissa Hogan and Matt Smith (Dawn). Dear sister to Sue Luepker and the late Elizabeth Graham. Compassionate Grandma to Mitchell, Emma, Tanner, Lauryn, Drew, and Quinn. Great-Grandma to Rowan, Olivia, and Mackenzie. Loyal cousin and cherished aunt.

A fierce, loyal, and self-less friend. Striving for purpose and leading by example, her passion for helping others and championing justice was unwavering.

Her life took her down many professional paths, each shaped by her boundless creativity and determined nature. She nurtured a passion for travel and found genuine contentment in her gardening. A true snowbird at heart, following the sun to Florida each winter. She delighted in every forest park Muny performance, her summer devotion. Ultimately her greatest love was always for her family.

The warmth in her smile drew people in. She was cherished by many, and her kindred spirit allowed her to form instant connections with everyone she encountered.

No one could ever fill her place in the hearts of those who knew her. We will miss her deeply.

SERVICES:  Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois Road Affton, Missouri 63123) on Thursday, December 4, 9:30 a.m. to Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church (Crestwood, Missouri) for 10:00 a.m. Mass.  Visitation Wednesday, December 3, 4-8 p.m.

Condolences

  1. Carol was one amazing lady. It would take a lot of people to fill one of her shoes. She was.. Caring, compassionate, loving and a heart filled with love for everyone she met. And now our hearts are broken but we know she is at peace and finally with Rich again. And may her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace. Blessings to the family. 💔🙏💔
