He was part of our office team. We will miss his contributions and his presence.
We were childhood friends through 8th grade, our backyards almost aligned for quick connection and departure, used to play every sport in the books, Billy was highly creative & skilled as demo’d by his “home-made hockey goalie pads” that allowed very few goals, he was one of the greatest Affton Sports Field baseball catchers, never forget the time we covered ourselves head-to-toe in mud from the huge puddle at bottom of his yard underneath the infamous tree-house (naturally Mom-Hoffman was flabbergasted, while Dad Hoffman laughed under his breath!), rode our banana-seat, motorcycle-like handlebarred bikes all over, with many stops at Rick & Mays & Lindenwood Drugs for great candy, played every sport (most games Billy put together) at Lindenwood Park and Lindenwood Schoolyard, and of course “ice hockey” in River Des Peres (or, as some of us called it, “ River De Stink!”), with tons of other great memories slipping my old mind along all with many great friends who lived in Pernod, Tholozan and all-around on our awesome South St. Louis neighborhood.
God Bless you in Heaven Billy Hoffman, you are loved and remembered by many.
All of the City Auditors are going to miss Bill. He was funny,. Sociable and always willing to help. I was interested in sports and so was he . We went on few audits too and he always said something funny. We all are gonna miss Bill.
William was an Auditor for the City of St. Louis and served the department for almost 5 years. He was always pleasant and kept the best perspective on life. Everyone who knew him knew he loved baseball and could talk about it for hours. He could make anyone laugh on the spot. We are going to miss him dearly. We appreciate his dedication to the City of St. Louis and will always be grateful to have known such a great person.
Thinking of you, Bill, on your first heavenly birthday.
