Dixon

In Loving Memory

Dixon, Danny C.

March 13, 1948 - April 25, 2026

On Saturday April 25, 2026. Loving husband of Mary “Susie” Dixon (nee Orlando). Beloved father of Theresa (Raymond) Ablan, Tammie (David) Reyna and Dana (Benjamin) Roe. Cherished grandfather of Raymond, Maggie, Allie, Mary, Seamus, and Marley, great grandfather of Jade. Our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

“Danny was a man of remarkable consistency. He retired from Hussmann after an incredible 47-year career, a testament to his loyalty and hard-working nature. While he worked hard, Danny’s heart often belonged to the diamond. A talented fast-pitch softball player in his younger years, he eventually traded his glove for a mask, becoming a fixture in the women’s fast-pitch softball circuit as a respected umpire.

His precision, fairness, and deep knowledge of the sport earned him the highest honor in his field: induction into the Umpires Hall of Fame.

Beyond the ballfield, Danny found joy in the thundering pace of the racetrack and the quiet magic of the holiday season. Known for his generous heart, he spent many years donning the red suit as Santa Claus, bringing joy to our  children for many generation.. He was a man loved by everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, fair play, and holiday cheer.”.

Services; A memorial visitation will be held at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Thursday April, 30th from 5PM until service at 7PM. Services will conclude at Kutis Funeral Home.

  4. Danny was a sweetheart – he loved people and had a great sense of humor. We spent many days together working various volunteer opportunities and I especially enjoyed working Winter Wonderland with him. It is very hard to lose a loved one, especially when you have been together for a long time. You never forget them – they are in your heart forever. – the loss just becomes a little less painful every day that goes by.

  7. My sincere condolences to Sue and family on Danny’s passing. I have known Danny since Fremont School on the Southside. We grew up together playing playing basketball, baseball, and softball in 60’s and 70’s. He was an amazing team player and more importantly he was just a great person and so much fun to be around. Danny thanks for being just a great friend and always having my back when we kids in the old neighborhood
