Jeffery Michael Walker was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 23rd, 1972. After attending Cleveland Jr. ROTC he graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1992. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1995 where he served on the USS Independence CV-62 as a boiler technician. He travelled the world in the Navy, eventually being stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. Jeff enjoyed his time in the Navy immensely and used his skills in civilian life after he was discharged. He was always dedicated and hardworking, eventually working as a maintenance technician at St. John Vianney School.
Jeff was loved by all who knew him, simply put. He was gregarious, thoughtful, conscientious, kind, and never without a smile. He remembered every birthday and always had a dollar bill for his nieces. He could instantly relate to almost any situation life brought forth to a corresponding scene from Seinfeld. This sudden and immense loss will be felt by all who knew him, worked with him, or were fortunate enough to call him family or a friend.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Katelyn Walker (fiancé Christopher LaChance) and granddaughter, Novalie LaChance. This tight-knit family was the center of his world, and as a grandfather he flourished. Jeff was predated in death by his father, Michael “Mickey” Walker and leaves behind his mother and step-father, Sharon and Roy Burgdorf. He is also survived by his sisters Jaclyn Burgdorf and Tracey Barton, as well as nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON Chapel 10151 Gravois, Saturday August 3, 2:00 PM until service at 3:00 PM.
“You Never Know What The Day Will Bring” – Jeff Walker
I am so sorry to hear of Jeffrey’s passing. I pray that God welcomes him into his kingdom and that God wraps his loving arms around Jeffrey’s family to give them peace and strength during this time.
Jeff’s gapped tooth smile could light up a room and his unique laugh was contagious to anyone who was in earshot.
Yes Jeff liked to have a good time but Jeff had a serious side as well.
He served his country by doing time in the military, he loved his daughter with a passion, and he was as proud a grandfather as you’ll ever find.
Jeff will be missed but he’ll never be forgotten.
” You left us to early my friend, my brother”
Jeff will be missed here at Vianney. We were blessed to have him as part of our community. He always had a smile on his face and willing to help with whatever was needed. My heart aches for his family and I will continue to pray all..
