In memory of Irmtraud (Traudel) Münch White (80), who passed away on April 4, 2024. Born in Nidda Germany toward the end of WWII. She was a loving, generous person in all of her roles in life: wife, mother, grandmother (Omi), great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband Melvin Douglas White, married 57 years. Children, Thomas Münch (Rita), Christine Turner (Timothy), Roger White (Alica). Grandchildren, Mallori Adams (Jared), Victoria Wienecke (Robert), Brennan White (Maggie), Katelyn Viehman (Grant). Great Grandchildren, Hunter Adams, Samantha Adams, Robert Wienecke, Gage Wienecke, Wyatt Wienecke and Maddox Wienecke. The Damazyn family who adopted her into their lives. Her sister Brigitte Riedel (Alfred).
After leaving her native Germany as a GI bride, Irmtraud was a beautician in Maplewood for 50 years, 40 of those years in her own shop, L&W Coiffures. Always willing to help customers in her shop or in their home if they didn’t have a ride. She helped with countless proms, weddings, funerals, and the occasional home treatments that went bad. Her shop was a great meeting point that fed the soul, passed the humor and often created the perfect tease or beehive.
At home, everyone was always invited in for her famous goulash, a beer, and a lot of laughter. You never left hungry or early. She was faithful to her Sunday calls with family in Germany.
She loved watching Cardinal football in the old Busch Stadium. She could not keep her foot from tapping to any music or swinging to a polka tune. She enjoyed the pool and sitting on the front porch with Joe.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ernst and Else Münch.

Traudel will be truly missed. She was a great personality who loved dancing and singing in her kitchen while making her famous goulash.
And sitting on the front porch with Uncle Joe.
Traudel will be so very missed. I remember my mother-in-law,Iris,saying that Traudel is singing and dancing around at the beauty shop. She was always on the front porch talking to Uncle Joe and Aunt Louise. Traudel always had a huge smile and hug for everyone.
