Daniel “Danny” N. Wigley, 72, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Born on March 28, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, Danny was the son of the late Jennie M. Wigley and Jack Wigley. He was the devoted husband of Patricia “Pat” Wigley, with whom he shared many happy years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A gifted musician, Danny dedicated much of his life to sharing his love of music with others. He assisted his mother in operating Wigley & Sons in Irving and later Lewisville, Texas, for more than ten years, where he taught hundreds of students to play guitar, bass, and keyboard, inspiring countless musicians along the way. Music was Danny’s lifelong passion. He performed with numerous bands throughout the years and loved being on stage entertaining audiences. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, he explored music production and continued to expand his creative talents. In more recent years, he embraced another passion—writing novels inspired by his many life adventures, using his gift for storytelling to preserve memories and share the remarkable experiences that shaped his journey.
Danny never met a stranger. Known for his heart of gold, quick wit, and genuine interest in others, he had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life and make everyone feel welcome. He loved learning and was always eager to share a “fun fact” that you never knew you needed—or wanted—to know. His love of books and knowledge was so strong that during a family trip to New York, he became completely absorbed in exploring a bookstore and wandered away from the group. By the time his family finally found him, they were frantic with worry, while Danny was perfectly calm and unconcerned. As far as he was concerned, he wasn’t lost at all—he knew exactly where he was the entire time.
A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and all things Texas, Danny carried his Texas pride wherever life took him. Although he moved away from the Lone Star State, he remained a proud Texan at heart throughout his life. He was also known for believing that walking was highly overrated and would happily search for any opportunity to shorten the journey, a trait that brought many laughs to those who knew and loved him.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia “Pat” Wigley of St. Louis, Missouri; his bonus daughters, Lisa Donovan and her husband, Andrew, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Angie Schaefer and her husband, Vik Penna, of Brooklyn, New York; and his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Bryan, Anna, and Mary Donovan.
He is also survived by his sisters, Jennifer Flatte and her husband, Warren, of Pocola, Oklahoma; Tricia Pulliam and her husband, Tracy, of New Boston, Texas; and Jacqueline McInerney and her husband, Brian, of Lewisville, Texas; his brother-in-law, James Anderson of Paris, Tennessee; nieces Ashley Wigley and Courtney Cox; nephews David Wigley and his wife, Tabitha, Blake DeWater and his wife, Kim, Seth Anderson and his wife, Sarah, and Matthew Anderson and his wife, Carrie; great-nieces Madlynn DeWater and Samantha Anderson; and great-nephews Jack DeWater, Michael DeWater, Sean Anderson, Ian Anderson, and Jack and Joe Wigley.
