I first met Darrell on the Pistol Range at Arnold R&P Club many years ago. A longtime Bullseye competitor, we enjoyed trying to outshoot each other during the weekend matches. When he showed up, the range would “light up” just from his smile. He really enjoyed the sport and seeing his “shooting buddies”, as did we all. Always ready to help us get better at the game, and assist with the range preparation. Somewhere I have a picture of him standing in the rain, in a mud hole, in his rubber boots, smiling because he was at the National Championships at Camp Perry, with his teammates. He will be missed by all of us. Kent
I’ve known Darrell for a long time and spent many hours shooting Bullseye pistol with him. In his later years, he was the one who would prepare all the targets for the 2700 Bullseye pistol matches that are held at the Arnold Rifle & Pistol Club during the spring and summer. I have the picture referred to by Kent Finley hanging on the wall in my office which shows him, me and two others standing in the mud after we shot the team match in 2008 at the Camp Perry National Pistol Matches in Ohio. We had Corvette’s in common, him owning a 1989 which was the same year as my first Corvette. I will sorely miss him. Rick
I was so sorry to hear of Darrell’s passing. I knew him from working at AB. He was a talented machinist and a great guy to work with.
