Mueth

In Loving Memory

Mueth, Thomas Edwin

Our beloved Thomas, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, joined Our Lord on December 16, 2023, after an extended illness related to heart failure.

Born September 28, 1949, in St. Louis, to the late Eugene and Catherine (Kuntemeier) Mueth, Tom remained in the St. Louis Hills area all his life.  A product of the Catholic school system, he attended Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School, St. Louis University High School, and St. Louis University, where he graduated with a BS in Commerce and Finance.  He entered his field of accounting before graduation at 21 while attending SLU.  Tom was a member of St. Raphael’s Parish in St. Louis Hills.  He played a mean infield position on several baseball and softball teams and attended countless children’s ball games to cheer on family players.

Tom leaves behind his companion and best friend of forty years, Mary P. Maniaci Braun, as well as her children, Michael (Kathryn) and Denise (Matthew), and their children, Shannan (Roman), Natalie, Jenna, and Madelyn. He protected and loved Mike and Denise as his own children, as well as their families.  Tom played army men, farm animals, and board games with any child who would join in the fun.  He was giving of his time for anyone in need.

He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Delores, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Mueth family. He was sadly preceded in death by his brothers and tennis partners, Eugene and Robert, as well as his dearly loved sister, Mary.  Most recently, another tennis partner, his cousin, Brother Al Kuntemeier passed.

He will sorely be missed by the entire Maniaci family, led by Jenny (the late Michael), who considered him a perpetual member of their family. We will remember him every time we listen to or watch a St Louis Cardinal baseball or Blues hockey game. Hopefully, he will be joining members of the 40s through 80s baseball teams, whose stats he could reel off at a moment’s notice.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd in Tuesday, Dec 26, from 8:30 a.m. until time of prayers at 10:30 a.m. then to St. Raphael Catholic Church for 11 a.m. mass., Burial Saints Peter and Paul cemetery.
