In Loving Memory

King, Robert Paul “Bob”

January 30, 1930 - August 18, 2025

Robert Paul “Bob” King
January 30, 1930 – August 18, 2025

Robert Paul “Bob” King, of Oakville, passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born in Holcomb, Missouri, on January 30, 1930, Bob was the youngest of four sons of J.H. and Elizabeth King. Raised on a cotton, soybean, and melon farm, he grew up with strong values, a competitive spirit, and a love for basketball, playing varsity for Holcomb High School alongside his brother Caroll.

Bob served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, working as a vehicle mechanic at stateside bases and RAF Lakenheath in England. After his service, he began a long and fulfilling career as a tool and die maker at McDonnell Douglas, where he met and married Hannah Dean Boyd. Together, they raised three children: Jeffery, Steven, and Christy.

Bob was a man of deep faith, a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, and a devoted member of his church community. At various times throughout his adult life, he was a member of Florissant Valley Baptist Church, Cross Keys Baptist Church, and Hazelwood Baptist Church.

He loved his family, his friends, and his many hobbies—whether playing ping pong, fixing things around the house, or cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Missouri Tigers, and Kansas City Chiefs. A proud Democrat and a tireless tinkerer, Bob brought joy, laughter, and conviction to everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah, his parents, and his brothers—David, Caroll, and James. He will be interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Kutis Funeral Home.

Bob will be remembered for his faith, kindness, craftsmanship, and the deep love he held for those closest to him. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Louis Honor Flight.
