In Loving Memory

Schneider, Mark S.

April 27, 1954 - October 11, 2025

On Saturday October 11, 2025. Loving husband of Janis Schneider (nee Macke). Dearest son of the late James and Helen Schneider. Beloved father of Jessica (Jason) Jackson and Jamie (Kyna) Schneider. Cherished grandfather of Emily, Connor Jackson, Miles and Rory Schneider. Dear brother of the late Greg Schneider. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

‘Mark enjoyed fishing and being outdoors in nature whether visiting a state park or just floating down the Meramec.  Golfing, skiing, and skeet shooting were also among his favorite outside activities. He loved to travel and taking a good road trip, visiting anywhere and everywhere with family and friends.  As an avid photographer, he documented it all through pictures.

Spending the majority of his career as a contracting officer for the United States federal government, he had the opportunity to be apart of many important projects including overseeing the construction of the dam near Hannibal, MO with The United States Army Corps of Engineers as well as being involved in the development of the Comanche helicopter. In addition to his work accomplishments, he made lifelong friends with many of his coworkers.

With his father being a fighter pilot Captain in the United States Air Force, serving in both World War II and Korea, he held a great love for fighter jets, attending many air shows, and deep appreciation for his country.

He loved nothing more than spending time with his dear friends and loving family, including his grandchildren in later years.  He had an incredible love of animals, especially dogs, taking care of numerous as pets throughout his lifetime.

He will be greatly missed by so many.

Services; A memorial visitation will be held at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry on Monday October 20, 2025 from 2PM until service at 5PM. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Condolences

  1. I’ll miss you, buddy. Good friend, great fisherman, fellow outfielder on the softball field for Scratch and Sniff championship teams, (always yelled at me for where the ball was in the sky), twisted sense of humor (like mine), lousy golf game (like mine), good g-man, taught me how to sane the Merrimac for minnows to catch smalleys. Great with Photoshop to always make it look like we caught fish. Couldn’t say where he’s at now but I bet he’s taking pictures. Love you….Con. (Proud to say I was with him when he caught that hybrid striper on holiday shores Lake in striper John’s boat.
