Linda Finger

In Loving Memory

Finger, Linda (nee Tockstein)

March 22, 1955 - November 7, 2025

Linda Finger nee Tockstein of St. Louis, MO passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on November 6, 2025.

She was born in St. Louis on March 22, 1955, to William and Coralene Tockstein.

Linda was a loving wife, devoted mom, and affectionate grandmother.  She was a faithful member of Rooftop Christian Church and the Wise & Wonderful Senior Group.

She had a soul that danced with joy.  In her youth, her mother ignited a passion within her, to pour love into sewing, creating outfits that were as beautiful as her heart. Fashion was more than style to her—it was a way to express herself. That spark of creativity went on to inspire her brother and was tenderly passed down to her eldest granddaughter, guiding her hand as she learned to sew—an unbreakable bond woven through generations by love and devotion. Her wardrobe was a reflection of her personality—an outfit and matching jewelry for every occasion, every holiday—each piece a testament to her boundless love and zest for life.

Her family was her everything, the very heartbeat of her existence. She cherished every moment spent with her siblings, her laughter echoing in their reunions, and she cheered with unwavering pride at her grandchildren’s every achievement, her love an unbreakable anchor in their lives.

She was a beacon of compassion, always ready with a comforting shoulder to lean on, her arms open in genuine love and kindness. To know her was to feel seen and cherished—her passion, strength, kindness, and sincerity shone through every word and gesture. She was a truly extraordinary soul, making everyone around her feel like the most important person in the world, because to her, they were.

Her spirit was unrestrained. She embraced the thrill of adventure—traveling with her beloved husband Pat to Mexico, Florida, Alaska, and Lake Tahoe, each adventure fueling her insatiable curiosity. She hiked through the stunning Garden of the Gods and whitewater rafted in Colorado, always hungry for the next exhilarating experience. Her life was a magnificent journey of fearless exploration and wholehearted living, and her memory will forever inspire us to embrace every moment with passion and love.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother Coralene Tockstein nee Odem and her father William Tockstein.

Linda was first united in marriage to James Hoffner, Jr., who went home to be with the Lord in 2006. Years later, God brought Morton “Patrick” Finger into her life, and together they shared 12 years of love, laughter, and faith. Pat remains to cherish her memory.

She is also survived by her two brothers Rick (Linda) Tockstein and Jack (Geri) Tockstein, four sons Joe (Tonya) Meyer, Scott (Melissa) Meyer, Adam (Payton) Hoffner, and William (Sarah) Hoffner, three stepdaughters Tana (Todd) Volmert, Stephanie (Faruk) Dudic, and Jan Young, 15 grandchildren: Liam and Logan Meyer, Dylan (Jayden) and Coriann Meyer, Hadley Hoffner, Luna, Brayden, Iris, and Ari Hoffner, Alisha and Shelby Volmert, Lejla, Eldin, and Ariela Dudic, and Samuel Young, one great grandson Elliott Meyer and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all cherish her memory.

Linda’s family finds comfort in knowing she is home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who she served faithfully throughout her life.
